Thrive is an idea we have had to open up our home to young adults who are needing a place to live while they work or go to school. This is an opportunity to live in community together, and to support each other as you progress through school or work.
Our community was launched on December 1, 2013. We have included some information and photos below for any one who is interested.

-The community space has it's own kitchen, and each person has their own half sized fridge, private food pantry and personal dishes (supplied by us). The kitchen is also outfitted with shared appliances and cooking utensils. Each person will do their own cooking, with the exception of community meals which will be hosted by house parents "Murray and Wendy" occasionally.
The community kitchen area is pictured below.
-A full laundry centre is also located in the kitchen area.
-Dishes, bedding, furniture and laundry use are included free of charge for your use during your stay.
- Our home has 5 private bedrooms available. They are located on two different levels. Girls rooms on one level and guys on another. Each room has been equipped with comfortable furniture to ensure a place of privacy for work and study. Here are some examples of the bedrooms, although some have been refurnished for the lower level with a more masculine style.

-Each level has a very nice shared bathroom for the use of those living there.
-There are two mascot pets in the house. Misty and Felix... indulged and loved by all. Unfortunately we are not able to accept any other pets at this time.
-Our 4000 square foot home, set on a 1/4 acre of land has a large rear green space that will be accessible to all household members.

-Our home is located 22 minutes from downtown Winnipeg.
Our Thrive student community functions with a culture of honour and respect for each other, with some simple guidelines that reflect this ideal. Any guidelines we put in place will be based on the simple directive of Jesus Christ to "Love God with all your heart, and love and treat your neighbour (who ever is next to you in any given moment) with the same kind of love and treatment that you would desire yourself." Students/ young adults do their part by cleaning their bathroom every two weeks, and helping to keep the communal areas clean.
The monthly rent is $500.00 per month, which includes a private room, shared bathroom, shared kitchen and shared recreation areas, cable TV, hook up, internet and laundry. During the cold winter months, (Nov-Feb) their will be a additional charge of $25.00 per month, for the electricity cost for any one who wishes to plug in their vehicle.
Is our Thrive, community the right fit for you?
If you are a student or young adult under the age of 30 who has transportation to work or school, is comfortable living in a Christian home and is mature enough to live independently and with others in community then the answer may be yes. Our home is not set up as a "party house" and while our students often have friends over, if you are just looking for a "cheap place to rent and party" this will not be the right place for you. Our students are all mature and responsible with work and school schedules that are not conducive to that kind of lifestyle.
